About

So, let’s face it:  while being a mother might be the pinnacle of womanhood, it is hardly ladylike.  It’s a messy, awkward, in-the-trenches, and largely ad-libbed lifestyle that usually changes radically just when you think you’ve got a handle on things.  For those of you who have been there, you know what I’m talking about.  For those of you who are there now, I feel for you.

Who?

My name is Diana.  I’m an actor by trade, wife by choice, mother by surprise, blogger by hobby and Etsy seller by necessity.  I’m also really bad at writing in the third person.  I love smiley faces, Oreos, popcorn, rain, wrought-iron street lamps, amusing quotes and pop culture references, reading, making lists, and making food with my kids.  I’m raising my kids to be polite, law-abiding geeks.. though I admit that wasn’t my intention when I set about the endeavor four years ago.

What?

What really what spurred me to start this blog was my desire to chronicle the tidbits of wisdom and useful knowledge plucked from the brains of people brighter and more experienced than myself, and hopefully, help some other homemaker de-stress their life a little more.  And if I could get a few laughs out of it along the way, all the better!  So far, success = very yes!

Where?

Presently, we live in the Greater Boston Area.  But stay tuned… with two artists in the family, we’re bound to be a little nomadic!

When?

Harty Family established August 2007. Received upgrades June 2008 and July 2010.

Why?

Cuz it’s fun!

  1. I just found your site. I love it. I am also a mommy and a blogger. Disorganized is a constant feeling I have, Thanks for sharing your site. Look me up at http://www.domesticallysimple.com. We are also on facebook. I see you are getting into couponing. That is most of my site. It may be able to help you in a realistic and unextreme sort of way. It could help your followers as well.

  2. Thanks, Candyce! I’m all for being simple, realistic and non-extreme. I’ll definitely look you up! From what I’ve gleaned just from glancing at your home page, I think your blog is going to make my “read every day” list! I’m always on the look out for other mommy bloggers to swap ideas and stories with. Prepare for link-backs, I like to post about things that I like and that make sense to me 🙂
